With Power from Kifisia

Four women meet in a living room in Kifisia, talk endlessly about life and their loves, and dream of a journey that might change everything. "With Power from Kifisia" by Dimitris Kechaidis and Eleni Chaviara is presented by Versus Theatre as a theatrical monologue on Friday 23 and Friday 30 October at 20:30, with free admission.

Directed by Loukas Zikos, the play takes us to Kifisia in the 1990s. Aleka welcomes Fotini and Maro to her home, and her adult daughter, Electra, is with them as well. Amid confessions, gossip, memories and erotic fantasies, the four women try to put in order what frightens them and what they desire.

A trip to Thailand seems like the right opportunity for a new beginning. However, as the conversations continue, the desire for change meets the insecurities and habits that keep them in the same place.

With humour, irony and tenderness, the play speaks of the passing of time, loneliness and the need for love and companionship. Its heroines move between exaggeration and sensitivity, searching for the strength to put into action what they dream of.
