Carmen Maura

Carmen Maura (born 1945 in Madrid) is one of Spain's most celebrated actresses and a key figure in the Spanish cultural renaissance of the 1980s. Her collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar — including What Have I Done to Deserve This?, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and Volver — defined an era of Spanish cinema and earned her European Film Awards. She remains an active and revered figure in European film.
