Splean

Splean are a Russian alternative rock band formed in St Petersburg in 1994, led by vocalist and songwriter Alexander Vasiliev. One of the most enduring and critically regarded acts in Russian rock, Splean emerged from the fertile St Petersburg music scene of the 1990s alongside Mumiy Troll, DDT, and other acts that defined post-Soviet alternative music. Their albums — including Gorod (City), Genshtemans Schow, and Tela v Oblakakh — are considered classics of Russian rock, and their poetic, melancholy lyrics and hook-filled songwriting have resonated with Russian music fans for three decades. Their performance at Monte Caputo in Limassol was a significant event for Cyprus's Russian-speaking rock music community.
