“CHANEL CONTRE RUBINSTEIN”
“Chanel vs. Rubinstein” is a revelatory stage production about talent, the choice between love and freedom, and the power of female genius. A story of those who dared to be first.
Paris. The 1920s. A city where fashion becomes art and passion turns into a trial.
On stage — two legends, two opposites: — Gabrielle Chanel, bold and free, rewriting the rules of the game (Svetlana Ustinova); — Ida Rubinstein, star of the Ballets Russes, a woman-myth living through dance (Ekaterina Varnava).
Between them stands Grand Duke Dmitri Romanov — a man without a homeland, burdened by a past he cannot escape (Dmitry Kondrashov).
Here, love becomes a duel of passion, talent, and destiny. Jealousy turns into music. Pain becomes art.
Chanel creates a fragrance destined to preserve her name forever. Rubinstein, enduring the pain of separation, commissions Maurice Ravel to compose music to which she will dance her despair — thus Boléro is born.
“Chanel vs. Rubinstein” is an intellectual and emotional duel where art proves stronger than love.
On stage, this is more than a confrontation. It is an honest conversation about the price of freedom, loneliness at the вершина of success, time that spares no one, and character stronger than circumstance.
Their dialogue is sharp, ironic, and painfully truthful. Their opposition reflects an eternal conflict between taste and audacity, intuition and calculation, minimalism and luxury.
Welcome to a duel with no winners — because legends do not lose.
