Founded in 2013 at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the Accio Piano Trio has developed into a dynamic presence on the international chamber music scene. Since its debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus in 2015, the Trio has performed extensively all over the world, appearing at leading venues and festivals such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, Shenzhen Concert Hall in China, Salzburg Mozart Week, the Portogruaro International Music Festival, and Schloss Goldegg Castle in Austria. Winner of major awards including First Prize at the Carl Wendling Competition for Chamber Music in Stuttgart, Second Prize at the 9th International Johannes Brahms Chamber Music Competition in Gdańsk, and Third Prize at the 30th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, the Accio Piano Trio will make its Cyprus debut as part of the Pharos Arts Foundation’s Concert & Recital Series.
The Accio Trio will present a rare and compelling programme, ranging from Mozart’s wonderful Piano Trio Fragments K.442, which the composer left unfinished, to the uniquely atmospheric Piano Trio No.2 by one of the most important composers of the 19th century, Cécile Chaminade, before culminating in Schubert’s Piano Trio No.2 in E-flat major – a work of symphonic breadth and dramatic intensity, regarded as one of the supreme masterpieces in the history of the chamber music repertoire.
