The Edit Gallery presents Danae Patsalou’s second solo exhibition—a poetic series of works on time, memory, and renewal, revealed through parallel imagery of dawn and archaeological discoveries.
Through paintings and drawings, moments of revelation unfold before the viewer—what was hidden gradually becomes visible. Like the first rays of the sun transforming the landscape, light alters our perception of space and time, signifying both an end and a new beginning.
Patsalu also draws on the language of archaeology: artifacts long hidden underground return to the present just as memories surface from the past. Time here is not linear but multilayered—past and present coexist, revealing long-hidden meanings.
The exhibition features two series of small works: - A series inspired by the plant reliefs of the Ara Pacis monument in Rome, reinterpreted in rhythmic and carefully constructed compositions - A series conveying the stillness of dawn, when light slowly reveals the surrounding world Together, these works connect archaeological excavations and dawn as parallel acts of revelation—the return of the past and the birth of the new.
Opening in the artist’s presence: Saturday, March 21, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Exhibition dates: March 21 – May 2, 2026.
