Celebrated for her imaginative artistry and distinctive approach to the guitar repertoire, the French guitarist Edith Pageaud has rapidly emerged as one of the most remarkable young voices of her generation. Winner of several important international competitions including the Drôme de Guitares International Competition, the Roland Dyens “Révélation Guitare Classique” Competition, the Florence International Guitar Competition and the Rust International Guitar Competition, Pageaud has drawn particular attention for her striking personal arrangements of works by classical masters originally written for other instruments.
She will appear at The Shoe Factory as part of the 20th EGTA Guitar Festival, which is organised in collaboration with the Pharos Arts Foundation, in a fascinating recital that reflects her remarkable gift for reimagining the music of great composers for the guitar – featuring works by Mertz, Glass, Schubert, Biber, Rachmaninov, Scarlatti, Rameau, Kapsberger, Piazzolla and Tansman.
