Co-organised by Rialto Theatre and Morfitis GEM Music Productions, the 80-minute performance brings two contemporary ensembles together on stage without intermission: Chunky Funky and Soulful Groove Collective.
The evening is structured as a gradual musical journey. It opens with the compact trio format of Chunky Funky — keyboards, guitar, and drums — before expanding into the fuller, more dynamic line-up of Soulful Groove Collective, which adds vocals and electric bass to the mix. The two ensembles approach modern jazz from different aesthetic perspectives, but share a common foundation built on rhythm, groove, and improvisation. Through original compositions, contemporary arrangements, and strong musical interaction on stage, the concert captures the creative vitality that defines today's jazz scene.
