Athasia Cave Hike: Adventure Trail in Machairas Forest

This circular adventure hike in Machairas Forest, Cyprus is organised by The Vounisious Adventure Club on Sunday, May 17, 2026, starting at 09:00. The specially designed 5km route takes approximately 2.5 hours at intermediate difficulty, combining country road, forest path, and a 10% adventure hike section. A certified hiking guide leads the group throughout. Participation costs €3 per person with prepayment, and registration is mandatory.

Highlights of the route include the Athasia Cave and a panoramic viewpoint — along with a twist that will reveal itself along the way.

Recommended equipment: hiking boots (mandatory), hat, long trousers, weather-appropriate clothing, hiking poles, at least 1 litre of water, energy bars or electrolytes, and a snack for the break.
