About This Event
Experience a rare cinematic event in Nicosia with the screening of the silent film "L'Inferno" (1911), accompanied by live piano music by Andrea Goretti at the University Cyprus Cultural Centre. The film is widely considered the first Italian feature film and one of the most significant works of early Italian cinema.
Directed by Francesco Bertolini, Adolfo Padovan and Giuseppe de Liguoro, the film visually represents Dante's journey through Hell with images that continue to move audiences today. In this screening, Italian pianist and composer Andrea Goretti accompanies the entire film with a completely improvised live musical score on piano.
