About This Event

The Municipality of Strovolos presents a free Cypriot traditional music concert in Nicosia, Cyprus, on Monday 27 July 2026 at 20:00, at the Takis Zembyla Municipal Park. 🎶 Leading Cypriot vocalist Christos Sikkis, Anna Aristeidou and the ensemble ANTAMA will guide audiences through songs that trace the musical identity of Cyprus — from folk melodies and lullabies to songs of love, satire and the pain of displacement.

The concert is part of the Municipality of Strovolos's ongoing cultural initiative "Culture in Every Neighbourhood" (Πολιτισμός σε κάθε γειτονιά), bringing live performances to local communities across Strovolos in 2026.

The repertoire spans a rich variety of Cypriot regional traditions: Paphian songs, Avkoritis songs, tsatismata (improvised rhyming verses), the lullaby of Agia Marina, paralogi ballads, poetic and satirical pieces, love songs, and deeply moving songs of refugee memory — all painting a vivid portrait of Cyprus through music. 🎵
