The classic Greek comedy Didymos Mpelas (Twin Trouble) comes to Markideio Theatre in Paphos, Cyprus, for one exclusive performance on Friday, 11 September 2026 at 20:30. Presented by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and performed by the theatre company Evforia Gelwtos, this is a must-see night of laughter for the whole family.
Written by Dimitris Giannoukakis and directed by Giorgos Fratzeskakis, this beloved comedy is based on the theatrical work "Smile, Please" and was first staged in the 1950s starring the legendary Vasilis Logothetidis. The production toured Greek festivals from early July before arriving in Paphos for this one-night-only performance, running 1 hour and 45 minutes with no intermission.
🎭 The plot: Paraskevás, a grumpy husband, covers up his romantic indiscretions by inventing a twin brother named Leandros. Leandros does exist — but bears no resemblance to Paraskevás. When his wife discovers the truth through photographs, she plots her revenge. Sharp humour, comic misunderstandings, and classic farce make this a timeless crowd-pleaser.
