The 9th Fig & Halitzi Festival returns to Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias, Cyprus, on Thursday 20 August 2026 — a beloved annual celebration honouring two of the region's most iconic traditional products: the fig and halitzi, a soft white goat's milk cheese produced locally from August through September.
Held at the grounds of Kato Pyrgos Primary School, the evening brings together authentic flavours, live music, and genuine village hospitality. Visitors are treated to complimentary tastings of fig and halitzi, can explore traditional local products, and enjoy food and drink throughout the night.
The artistic programme is headlined by Andri Karantoni, promising a memorable live performance under the August sky. The festival is held under the auspices of the President of the Nicosia Regional Organisation of Local Authorities (EOA), Mr. Konstantinos Giorkatsis.
The drive to Kato Pyrgos is well worth it — the views of the coastline and pine-covered Troodos slopes make for a stunning journey.
