Machairas Trail Series Vol. 9

Vounisious Adventure Club invites you to the 9th edition of the Machairas Trail Series, heading to Kionia — a scenic 14km circular hike in the Machairas forest area near Nicosia. The hike takes place on Sunday, 29 November 2026, starting at 9:00 from Kakokefalos View Point (please arrive by 8:45). With an approximate duration of 5 hours and 30 minutes, this route is rated intermediate to difficult.

Ticket prices start from €3 (pre-paid).

The circular route covers approximately 14km — 90% trail, 3% asphalt, and 7% country road — offering stunning viewpoints throughout the Machairas forest. A certified hiking leader will lead the group for the entire duration.

Recommended gear: hat, long trousers, hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, hiking sticks, energy bars or electrolytes, a snack for the break, and at least 1.5 litres of water.

Registration is mandatory and participation is confirmed only upon pre-payment of the €3 fee.
