Entre dos mares / My Two Places - Photography Exhibition

In Entre dos mares / My Two Places, Asli Bolayir examines the relationship between Nicosia and Barcelona through photography, memory and the sea. The exhibition begins with old images of Sarayönü and Carrer de l’Hospital, following the traces that remain when streets, buildings and neighbourhoods change. Bolayir turns archival photographs into postcards, returning to places that no longer exist in their earlier form. A second group of works is created through sunlight, seawater and photosensitive materials. Here, the image depends partly on waiting and physical processes that the artist cannot completely control. These two approaches create a dialogue between the fixed record of an old photograph and the unpredictable marks left by the sea. Bolayir, an artist and art therapist working between Cyprus and Barcelona, brings together personal geography, migration, memory and the material life of images. The exhibition opens at 18:30 on Thursday, 19 November 2026, and continues until 29 November. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 09:30 to 17:00, with free admission.
