About This Event
"I Koilia" (The Belly) is a solo theatre monologue written by Marina Vronti, performed in Nicosia, Cyprus at Ktirion 53 from 11 October to 8 November 2026. Written by Marina Vronti, directed by Stavros Potamaris, and performed by Marilia Haridimou, this intimate production blends humour, anger and tenderness into a deeply moving theatrical experience. The show runs for approximately 60 minutes.
The monologue follows a woman across different stages of her life — from a child learning to see herself through the eyes of others, to a young woman falling in love, to a mother watching her body change. Each age leaves its mark, and each change carries both a loss and a new version of the self. Laughter becomes a doorway to truths that are rarely spoken aloud.
The production invites audiences to listen closely to what the heroine was taught to hide — and to recognise that motherhood does not erase the woman who existed before, just as a body never stops telling its own story.
