    About This Event

A contemporary art exhibition, workshops, and narrative walks in Fyti exploring the cultural heritage of two villages through stone, earth, and traditional techniques. Free admission, 17 October 2026-18 December 2026.

The "Matter and Community" initiative brings contemporary art into creative dialogue with the cultural heritage of the villages of Lasa and Fyti, highlighting stone, earth and traditional techniques as living elements of local identity. Through an art exhibition, an artist residency programme, experiential workshops, presentations and narrative walks, residents and visitors are invited to discover the stories, memories and knowledge connected with the natural and built landscape of the area. The initiative promotes inclusion and participation for all, with workshops open to the general public, activities for all ages and particular emphasis on the participation of the elderly through intergenerational workshops that bring older people and their grandchildren together. At the same time, it brings professional and amateur creators into creative dialogue, highlighting the creativity of the Cypriot countryside and laying the foundations for a long-term relationship between the local community and contemporary art.
