The Nonets feat. Eleonora Roussou

The Nonets featuring Eleonora Roussou present A Modern Jazz Chamber Experience at Pattihio Theatre on 9 November 2026 at 20:00, bringing jazz into creative dialogue with the distinctive sound world of a contemporary chamber ensemble.

Created by pianist, arranger and bandleader Giorgos Morfitis, the ten-piece ensemble places the voice and flute of Eleonora Roussou at the centre of the programme. Three saxophones, flutes, two violins, viola, piano, double bass and drums form a rich and unusual sonic palette that extends beyond the conventional jazz ensemble.

The programme is built around jazz standards presented through original arrangements by Giorgos Morfitis, written specifically for the ensemble's instrumentation. The freedom and improvisation of jazz meet the contrasting colours of strings and winds, creating a sound that moves from intimate and atmospheric to rhythmically vibrant and expressive.

The result is a contemporary concert experience that moves naturally between the intimacy of a jazz club and the breadth of a small orchestra while preserving the spontaneity at the heart of jazz.

The performance is presented by the cultural organisation Morfitis GEM Music Productions LTD at Pattihio Theatre, within the POLITISMOS III programme, with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
