Living Together: Dignified Collective Housing for Seniors in Cyprus

This educational event in Nicosia, Cyprus explores collective housing solutions for seniors through expert presentations and interactive workshops. The 55 Plus Minus Together Cyprus organization, ETEK Cyprus, and Frederick University co-organize this initiative addressing Cyprus's aging population challenges.

Cyprus faces significant demographic changes with an increasing percentage of people over 65, creating social and economic challenges in housing. Many seniors live in unsuitable or difficult-to-maintain homes while experiencing loneliness and isolation. Collective housing (cohousing) combines privacy with community support, reducing isolation and enhancing independence for older adults.

The program features expert speakers discussing the social dimensions of collective housing, best practices from Europe, and examples from Greece. Interactive workshops will explore practical implementation in Cyprus and integration into state housing policy.
