About This Event
The Watermelon Dance (Χορός Καρπουζιού) is a beloved annual summer party event in Nicosia, Cyprus, bringing together traditional live music, food, and dancing under the open sky. Taking place on Saturday, 25 July 2026 at 20:30, the event is held at Plateia Akaciou (Makariou Square, Makariou B' Avenue, 1057 Nicosia).
The evening features a live traditional music programme by Vasiliki Chatziadamou, plenty of locally grown Akaki watermelon, sweet melon, and frozen cocktails. The night continues with an After Party set by DJ Mario P.
The event is organised by ELLINISMOS AKACIOU, with major sponsorship from Allwyn, under the auspices of the Cyprus Ministry of Interior, and hosted with the support of the Akaki Community Council.
