About This Event
AntiLogos Theater presents a stage adaptation of Konstantia Sotiriou’s novel Brandy Sour—a story in which Cyprus’s past and present intertwine through people’s lives, memories, and events connected to the legendary Ledra Palace.
Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot actors will share the stage. The production is performed in Greek and Turkish and is accompanied by subtitles. Through the characters’ personal stories, the play explores themes of memory, identity, loss, belonging, and the quest to understand the past.
The venue itself creates a unique atmosphere. In Nicosia, the performance takes place in the garden of the Goethe-Institut Cyprus, within the UN buffer zone, next to the historic Ledra Palace—a space that has itself become part of the island’s complex history.
“Brandy Sour” is not just a play about the past. It is an opportunity to look at the history of Cyprus through human stories, to hear different voices, and to reflect on how events of the past continue to shape the present.
