Matter and Community - Exhibition, walks and workshops in Fyti - Opening

The "Matter and Community" initiative brings contemporary art into creative dialogue with the cultural heritage of the villages of Lasa and Fyti, highlighting stone, soil and traditional techniques as living elements of local identity.

Through an art exhibition, an artist residency programme, hands-on workshops, presentations and storytelling tours, residents and visitors are invited to discover the stories, memories and knowledge connected to the area's natural and built landscape.

The initiative promotes inclusion and participation for all, with workshops open to the public, activities for all ages and a particular emphasis on the participation of older people through intergenerational workshops that bring together seniors and their grandchildren.

At the same time, it brings professional and amateur creators into creative dialogue, highlighting the creativity of the Cypriot countryside and laying the foundations for a long-term relationship between the local community and contemporary art.
