About This Event
A picture printed from stone and a tiny emblem hidden inside a book: two exhibitions at the Hambis Printmaking Museum invite visitors to discover how much imagination a sheet of paper can hold.
Lithography and Its Evolution follows the technique from monochrome impressions to richly coloured prints. Works by artists including Eugène Delacroix, Honoré Daumier, Toulouse-Lautrec and Alekos Fassianos offer a reason to slow down and look closely at the printed image.
During the same visit, Ex Libris and Occasional Prints opens a more intimate world. These small bookplates identify a book’s owner through symbols, coats of arms and personal imagery. Alongside them are engraved greeting cards and wedding invitations: modest objects carrying private stories.
Both exhibitions are curated by Hélène Reeb and run until 19 December 2026 at the Hambis Printmaking Museum in Platanisteia, in the Limassol district.
Admission is free. Visits are by appointment: please call +357 25 222772 to arrange a day and time before travelling. The museum is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays.
