Hike with Cyprus Hikers: Avakas Gorge

Event ended 5 months ago
Venue: Athalassas Ave 186, Nicosia
About This Event
Friday, April 17, 11:00 a.m.
The group’s route will start at the church, with a total length of just over 5 km.
The Avakas Gorge near Paphos is a small, picturesque canyon, a favorite spot for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts, known for its beautiful rock formations, wild nature, and rare plants.
The hike will last 2.5–3 hours. It is a moderate-difficulty hike. We recommend bringing trekking poles.
If the group is lucky, they may spot one of the hundreds of wild goats in Cyprus. We recommend wearing headgear in the gorge, as small rocks may fall due to the goats’ movements.
George and Stathis will lead this hike, which will take place even in light rain. Phone numbers: 99492628 (George) or 99839585 (Stathis). No registration required—just show up.
Free.
If you are coming from Nicosia, you have a choice: meet the group at the hike’s starting point or meet at the designated meeting spot in Nicosia. Departure from Nicosia at 9:00 a.m. from the Cyprus Handicraft Service – Deputy Ministry of Culture: https://shorturl.at/7cIr7
