Autumn Festival dedicated to migratory birds

On Saturday, 3 October 2026, a free autumn festival dedicated to migratory birds will take place at the Atalassa National Forest Park (entrance from Lachi, near Nicosia General Hospital). This family-friendly event is organised at a time when thousands of birds stop over in Cyprus during their migration south.

All activities are free of charge; no prior experience of birdwatching is required. The organisers will provide participants with binoculars, telescopes and all the necessary equipment.

09:00 – 09:45 Bird ringing demonstration. Participants will be able to watch the bird-ringing process up close and learn how this scientific method helps to study birds’ movements and behaviour.
