The Frog and the Water (2025) is a free film screening at Pantheon Theatre in Nicosia, Cyprus, presented as part of the German Language Weeks (WDDS) on 10 November 2026. The event is organised by the Embassy of Switzerland in Cyprus, in cooperation with the Friends of Cinema Society, with support from the Charles Haimoff Foundation.
Directed by Thomas Stuber, the film follows Stefan Busch — known affectionately as Buschi — who spontaneously joins a Japanese tour group and strikes up an unlikely friendship with Hideo Kitamura. 🌏 Warm, humorous and genuinely touching, the film celebrates human connection across language, culture and borders.
The screening includes English subtitles and is suitable for ages 6 and above.
